CHRONIC PAIN SUPPORT GROUP, INC.

Intro

Chronic pain is described to be a pain that lasts long enough, or is so intense, to impact a person's normal activities and well being. It may come and go or continue over a prolonged period of time. Pain can arise anywhere in or on the body.

MOTTO: “Together we can do so much; alone so little. We are a circle of love; let’s keep the torch lit with love. We support each other.” RATIONALE: We are united by these common 'threads that constitute positive thoughts.

MISSION: THE MISSION OF THE CHRONIC PAIN SUPPORT GROUP, INCORPORATED IS “To provide support for the individual, family or caregiver; of those whose lives have been adversely impacted by chronic pain, (support that embraces the whole person and that will do the following): “Inform,” “Impact,” “Ignite” and “Inspire” the chronic pain sufferer to remain a productive and contributing member within the community for as long as life lasts.”

MAIN GOAL: To help each member/individual cope with chronic pain. RATIONALE: CPSG, Inc., Lexington, offers you the "Core" facts! "Let us put the APPLE back into your basket."

In this month of January 2023, we lost one of our CPSG board members. James Lee Jackson, long time member and treasured friend. Our hearts & prayers go out to the Lord to give comfort & blessings to his family.

The Chronic Pain Support Group (CPSG) was founded by Lonnie Cowan (Executive Director), because of his interest and concern for others who were suffering with physical, chronic, or emotional pain. The first CPSG meeting was held at Cardinal Hill in l986. Just to mention a few of the Boards he has participated on or as part of:

Founder and Executive Director of the Chronic Pain Support Group (CPSG)., Past Chairman of Kentucky Statewide Independence Living Council, (KY SILC), Member Of Community Advisory Committee (CAC), Members of Kentucky Non Profit Network, Faith Ministries, CPSG Video Ministry, has also served on; Board of Independence Place and the O. A . K., Volunteer for Griffin/Ballard Tower Plaza Senior Citizens and a volunteer for many other organizations.
